Roller derby is one of North America’s fastest growing sports full of fitness, challenge and fun! The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild has over 40 members skating as players, referees and fresh meat (new recruits) and we are always excited to bring in new blood. If you’re 18 years or older, have a desire to sweat, laugh and be pushed a little bit out of your comfort zone, we want you!

The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild is pleased to announce an open intake on Friday, April 27 and Monday, April 30 at our practice facility at 2930 – 9 Ave. North. starting at 6:30 p.m.

What to expect on intake night…

First, you will have to fill out some paperwork. The CRDI Waiver is available online and we encourage you to have it filled out before you arrive. You can find it here! To skate you will also need to pay the practice fee of $5 (exact change required). Please have your fee, proof of age ready with your waiver!

Next, you will be allowed to gear up. Please bring whatever protective gear you have. The league has loaner gear available but it’s first-come, first-served. All skaters MUST wear a mouthguard (available at most stores where you find sports equipment). It’s also recommended you bring your own helmet (bike, skateboard or hockey helmet is acceptable). Other gear that is required is roller skates, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards.

From there you will be taken onto to the track for your first lesson and you will begin your roller derby journey!
