The Deathbridge Derby Dames led the entire game, but the deciding points came down to the final jam in Saturday’s bout against the Kill Jills at Henderson Ice Arena.

Eight minutes into the second half the Dames had a healthy lead of over 50 points with a score of 99 to 42. However when the Dames ran into penalty trouble, the Kill Jills from Calgary used it to their advantage and aggressively took control of the game and the scoreboard.

In the final jam, Dames were ahead with a score of 123-119. However when Negative Nancy from the Kill Jills managed to get lead jam, she was able to score before Deathbridge and called off the jam with enough points for the win. Final score was 123-124 for the Kill Jills.

This game marks the end of the Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild’s summer home season. The Dames will face Swift Current’s Redneck Betties in away-from-home action Sept. 8.
