Lethbridge was once again represented at the Junior Roller Derby World Cup.

Two members of the Lethbridge roller derby community went to Brisbane, Australia to compete in the Junior Roller Derby World Cup in July 26-28. This was their second appearance at the international event representing Team Canada, which is held every two years.

Myra Moore, also known as Shredher on the track, started the sport in 2018 at the age of nine. She currently competes with the Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild junior team, the Windy City Wipeouts, and coaches in the intermediate junior program. At the previous Junior Roller Derby World Cup in 2023, Moore helped the female division team win bronze. She earned her current spot on the open division for Team Canada in October 2024 and balances school and other sports while preparing for the world stage.

Caroline Reimer, also known as Coach Meow, is the head coach of Canada’s open division team. The team includes skaters and coaching staff from across Canada, which requires Reimer to work remotely with everyone to help them prepare for the intensity of an international tournament. She has coached for the Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild  junior program since 2012. At the previous Junior Roller Derby World Cup in 2023, she led both the female team and open team that resulted in a third and fourth place finish, respectively.

The Junior Roller Derby World Cup took place July 26-28 in Brisbane, Australia. The tournament featured elite youth skaters representing female and open division teams from 10 countries. Team Canada placed fifth in the open division.
