The Coalbank Crushers and Windy City Wenches are set to face each other in the first of Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild’s summer bout series this Saturday at Henderson Ice Arena.

After losing by only 3 points in a house team debut match last February, the Crushers will be hungry for redemption against the Wenches. Roller derby is a full-contact sport on roller skates featuring hard-hitting action and athleticism not for the faint of heart. This family-friendly event will also have beer gardens and plenty of side-track seating for an up-close view of the game. Attendees are encouraged to come ready to be rowdy and cheer on their favourite roller derby players!

Doors open June 23 at 6 p.m. at the Henderson Ice Arena with game time set for 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and available through their website, through any league member or contact the LRDG through their Facebook page to arrange ticket delivery. Kids 10 and under are always free. This event is proudly sponsored by 94.1 CJOC and Lethbridge Vehicle Licensing and Registry.
